Abstract

The study was conducted on the farm of Don Víctor Manuel Melgar located in the southeast of Guatemala. Objectives To evaluate the phaneroptic, morphological and morphometric characteristics, to develop the Barroso-Salmeco standard to determine a racial pattern. The sample consisted of 49 females and 5 bulls older than three years of age with morpho-structural measurements, determination of indices, morphological and phaneroptic characteristics (44). To morphostructural variables and indices with univariate analysis to determine arithmetic mean, DE, CV, EE, Pearson and the morphological and phaneroptic contingency tables. The results: phaneroptic (female / male): hairless head in the forehead, muddy eyelid color, continuous towel, no umbilical fold, no hump, black skin, pink nose, dark hoof, depigmented udder / scrotum, short hair, fine , a single uniform color, present footwear.
