Abstract

This paper aims to demonstrate the life story of Carlos Tabares Luna as an activist and internationalist in the Salvadoran Revolution. The research is situated in the perspective of Latin American critical epistemology and develops its narrative through the methodology of the History of life. The Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) successfully implemented its diplomacy, with Mexico as a strategic rearguard, it was able to raise funds, spread its struggle, recruit militants and strengthen its logistics. In different parts of the country, “Committees of Solidarity with El Salvador” emerged. Guadalajara hosted several committees, one of them was founded by Carlos, a space where he began his activism for the cause of the FMLN. Later he was recruited by the National Resistance (RN), and as a professional militant of the FMLN-RN he attended tasks inside and outside the country until he traveled to El Salvador as an internationalist. There he participated in the Frente de Guazapa, within the Venceremos Radio System, and as a combatant he took part in the “Offensive to the Top” of November 1989; He was also a temporary promoter of political formation in the final stage of the conflict, in the aftermath of the signing of peace, he was an electoral trainer and a member of the FMLN’s social movement as a party.
