Abstract

The Valley of Chimaltenango has been characterized by climatology and special conditions as one of the best sites in the world for the breeding of birds; according to experiences and research of the National Poultry Industry. With various intentions of avian projects implemented in the locality: Industrial Farms (ANAVI), Family Poultry Bags (MAGA-DIGESEPE 1985-95), Mill of Poultry Concentrates (FONAPAZ-FIS-CEE years 2000 to 2008) came the idea of PRO-AVE production of Creole birds and fertile eggs. Considering the increase of the bird population in rural areas as a way to fight against poverty and have good family nutrition. Using appropriate methodologies and technologies for such activity. With safe markets of “meat” and Creole eggs. Using to incubate the chicken eggs to the turkeys as nurses (30 eggs / turkey) and industrial incubators as maquila according to the demand. Installing a system of production and genetic improvement based on selection by avian production and rotation of the stallions; with BPM and BPA for disease prevention based on programs according to the levels of antibodies of birds sampled and experiences of infection appearance according to “consolidated annual series” and lunar calendar for several decades. Feeding of birds to grazing or technified; according to the needs of the users, within equally appropriate facilities, puncturing the genealogical and production records as controls in the development of the small and medium poultry company.
