Perfil de personalidad en adolescentes con conductas autodestructivas

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: to describe the personality profile in adolescents with self-destructive behaviors who attend the B Bucay Health Center. METHOD: basic research of non-experimental design, whose methodology is of a quantitative, applied, descriptive and cross-sectional approach, with a population of 22 adolescents, men and women who attended the area of psychology for presenting recurrences in self-harm, whose ages are included between 12 and 17 years old, to whom the Personality Assessment Inventory for Adolescents PAI-A was applied. RESULTS: the study indicated that there is a prevalence of the main causes, where depression predominates with 27% and anxiety with 13% in reference to the other scales; The findings found in this study generally coincide with the scientific literature and are significant in contributing to the solution of problems related to self-destructive behavior. CONCLUSION: Violent, depressive and sensitive personality styles are related to a higher prevalence of self-destructive behaviors in adolescents attending the B Bucay Health Center.

Ambato campus in the Master of Clinical Psychology with Mention in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, graduated in the career of Clinical Psychology at the National University of Chimborazo-Ecuador; He currently works at the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute providing outpatient care to members who attend the B Bucay Health Center.
