Abstract

The performance evaluation is a subprocess of the human resources department, which allows evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the employees according to the functions of the job profile. The concern arises to inquire about the procedure used by an international company with quality standards to evaluate the performance of employees. For confidentiality the name of the company will be omitted, it will only be described, it is located in the capital of Guatemala, it is dedicated to the sale and distribution of food products and household appliances in bulk. The company evaluates them twice in the year, to know if they are performing their functions efficiently and efficiently. The method used for the evaluation of performance is the so-called Performance Evaluation based on Objectives (ODE), which basically consists of giving priority to establish objectives for future periods and that must be met in a set time, which were agreed in the staff development interview, this process is based on two basic pillars, the first represents the main responsibilities of the position whose performance is subject to evaluation and the second to the specific objectives assigned by the occupant of the position.
